Our Farmhouse Chili was made for those long days when it's cold and the chores took longer than expected.  When what you need is a warm kitchen and a hearty meal with real home-cooked flavors - not some frozen pizza made in a factory.

That's the story behind our Farmhouse Chili - real flavor and real beef.

Our chili is made in small batches by the artisans at Hurricane Soups in Greene, Maine. For the past few months we've worked hand-in-hand with owner Phil Wilbur and his family to come up with the perfect recipe. We think you'll love it.

Our Farmhouse Chili has just enough of a kick, but not too much. With plenty of our 5-star 100% grassfed ground beef (no skimping!).

And since you might not have time to make a fancy meal, but you still want something good - It's easy to prepare (that might be an understatement). Simply place the frozen (or refrigerator-thawed) pouch in hot water (190F - not boiling) for 8-9 minutes and, well, that's it. Serve with your favorite additions like shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, or tortilla chips. (Detailed instructions below.)

Makes for a great weeknight dinner on one of those busy days when cooking is the last thing on your mind. Or serve to the crowd on a Sunday football watching gathering.

What do we mean by 100% Grass Fed?

Our beef is 100% grass fed and grass finished. That means our cattle only eat grass. No corn, no grain, no animal by products -just grass.

In the growing season, they feed on the pastures of our 500 acre farm. In the winter, they eat the hay (grass) we harvested from our fields in the summer.

Beware of supermarket beef labeled "grass fed." Most factory-farmed, supermarket beef is fed grain (mainly corn) in the last few months before slaughter (even when it’s labeled “grass-fed”). While grain will fatten cattle up quickly, it can also make them sick because grains are not their natural feed.

That's why knowing the farmer who raised your meat is so important.

When we say 100% grass fed we mean 100%.

A Note From Farmer Dan

I'm super proud of our chili - I think it's got a wonderful home-cooked flavor - as good if not better than I could make on my own. This is a real go-to dinner for me when I don't have time to cook after a long day on the farm.
